Introducing The Cybersecurity Defenders Podcast

Some of the most powerful moments in your career are when you are given the opportunity to create something new, to experiment, and give something back to the community that has been so supportive over the years.

We are thrilled to be launching The Cybersecurity Defenders Podcast, a new show about cybersecurity and the people who defend the internet. The podcast series is built as a series of segments: we will be looking back at the last couple of weeks in cybersecurity news, talking to different people in the industry about their thoughts and experiences, we're going to break apart some of the TTPs being used by adversaries, and we will even cover a little bit of hacker history. We're going to try to have some fun with this and see what we could do.

Introducing The Cybersecurity Defenders Podcast

We have no shame in asking for your help in getting the word out by listening to the episode, sharing it with your network, and leaving us a review in Apple Podcasts. It would mean the world to us.

To get us started, 👉🏼 Gerald Auger, Ph.D. of Simply Cyber will take us through the last couple of weeks in cybersecurity news:

We sat down with Chris Gebhardt, CISO at Synoptek, to learn about their journey and explore some of their ideas around cybersecurity.

"Cybersecurity needs to answer to the business to a large degree that we can't be obstructionists."

LimaCharlie CEO and founder Maxime Lamothe-Brassard walks us through the latest development updates in LimaCharlie. It's been a busy 3 months here as we've expanded our ingestion capabilities with support for VMware Carbon Black, Microsoft Windows Defender, and CrowdStrike EDR. In our effort to deliver on our promise to provide more visibility into your security coverage, LimaCharlie users can now see the content of all Sigma and Soteria - Security Solutions & Advisory rulesets.

Clifford Stoll made a pretty big discovery in 1986 while working as a sys admin for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. It is a story that involves a suspected murder, international espionage, and the type of relentless curiosity that makes a great defender. Tune in to the first installment of Hacker History:

Hacker History: Clifford Stoll

Just released today, Matt Bromiley hosts a segment to bring light to the TTPs that adversaries use, so that as defenders, we can be on the lookout and aware of how these tools can be used or abused within our environments. In today's episode, we'll be discussing Microsoft Windows remote execution tool, PsExec.

Introducing The Adversary Toolbox

We recently pulled together cybersecurity founders Corey White, CEO/Founder of Cyvatar, Roselle Safran, CEO/Founder of KeyCaliber, and Maxime Lamothe-Brassard, CEO/Founder of LimaCharlie, to talk about their companies, their experiences, lessons they have learned, and things they wished they knew. All of this with the intent of imparting some knowledge and inspiring those that may be sitting on the sidelines. Innovation is the lifeblood of cybersecurity and we want to do everything we can to get more people in the game.

Thank you to all of our supporters, our customers, our friends, and family. Special thanks for those involved in the production of this podcast: Christopher Luft, 👉🏼 Gerald Auger, Ph.D., Nate Nelson, Maxime Lamothe-Brassard, Matt Bromiley, Charlton Swearingen, Amer Alkhatib, and Riddhi Mishra.
