Senior Back End Engineer (Remote, North America)

Who are we

LimaCharlie is a rapidly growing venture-backed information security startup delivering information security tools and infrastructure in a manner similar to how AWS delivers core components of IT. 

LimaCharlie enables organizations to detect & respond to threats, automate processes, reduce the number of vendors, and future-proof their security operations. The role we are trying to fill

LimaCharlie is like a box full of Lego blocks for cybersecurity professionals - a set of primitive, essential pieces that they can build on top of without a lot of upfront investment. Our products are used by technical security professionals, so everything we do is built API-first, and with accompanying technical documentation. The API is our core product, and everything is designed for massive scale. We are big believers in DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code. 

As a Senior Back End Engineer, you will take a lead on making strategic technical and architectural decisions, mentor and support other back end engineers, and  be a champion of good user experience. 

As a subject matter expert, you will be involved in troubleshooting and assisting users of LimaCharlie in their integration with various parts of the platform. We value a great deal the developer-to-developer relationships we build with users as a feedback mechanism for new features.

The team at LimaCharlie is still small. Your talent and ideas will have an important role in the success of the company. Because of all of this we are looking for somebody who can get going with minimal supervision and can deliver on what they say.

Tech Stack at LimaCharlie

• Back-end microservices written in golang

• Cloud provider is Google Cloud Platform

• Front-end mono-repo written in TypeScript and React

What you will be doing

• Build large scale systems and capabilities as infrastructure

• Take a lead on making strategic technical and architectural back-end decisions

• Mentor other engineers on the team, ensure that people feel included, and create a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing

• Participate in code reviews to improve code health and support each other's growth

• Troubleshoot issues with customers' deployments

The ideal candidate

• Has a high proficiency with Golang, and to a lesser extent Python, Typescript and C

• Has experience working with Google Cloud Platform and  Kubernetes / GKE

• Experienced in microservice development

• Has experience designing/architecting large scale systems

• Brings positive energy to help build our culture early on

• Bonus: interested in cybersecurity, has a low-level platform development experience (macOS, Windows, Linux) or a security-related experience
